Final Main Stage Shows Selected for ITF 2020

THREE ADDITIONAL PRODUCTIONS have earned main stage invitations for the 2020 International Thespian Festival. An honor achieved by only 11 shows across the U.S., these high school productions join the eight previously announced in January. Invitations are based on adjudications from last fall and winter.

The 57th event, transformed into the first virtual International Thespian Festival because of the COVID-19 pandemic, will take place the last week of June. The virtual event will celebrate the selected schools and feature streams or highlights from the productions.

The highly coveted invitation signals achievement of superior work in high school theatre. The additions include:

All My Sons
Paola (Kansas) High School, Troupe 66

They join previously announced productions of 9 to 5, Denver (Colorado) School of the Arts’ Troupe 5869; The Spitfire Grill, Marcus High School’s Troupe 4268 (Flower Mound, Texas); The Theory of Relativity, Urbana (Illinois) High School’s Troupe 161; Quilters, Orange County School of the Arts’ Troupe 6826 (Santa Ana, California); Guys and Dolls, Floyd Central High School’s Troupe 1794 (Floyds Knobs, Indiana); Puffs, Or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic, Ardrey Kell High School’s Troupe 7935 (Charlotte, North Carolina); A Chorus Line, Northwest School of the Arts’ Troupe 5634 (Charlotte, North Carolina); and My Fair Lady, New Albany (Indiana) High School’s Troupe 4501.

New Albany was also one of four institutions awarded the 2020 Outstanding School Award, given to programs that exemplify and promote high standards of quality in educational theatre.
