WHAT’S IT really like to create a new musical? Last summer, we asked 2019 Thespian Musicalworks finalists Jared Goudsmit and Max Reinert to take Dramatics.org fans behind-the-scenes for the development of Wrath of the PTA, their song-filled comedy about five members of a dysfunctional elementary school parent board and the election that throws their world into chaos.

From auditions through daily rehearsals to the final staged reading of the show at the 2019 International Thespian Festival, Goudsmit, Reinert, and their cast offer insights about their process. They also provide tips for those interested in participating in the Next Generation Works program, which annually showcases original writing by and for high school student members of the International Thespian Society.

IN THIS EPISODE: A road trip brings our writers to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for the 2019 International Thespian Festival. Following a quick tour around campus, they settle in to their home for the week.

You can binge-watch the entire series on our YouTube channel.
