ARE YOUR Google searches and YouTube views dominated by theatre-related news and tips? Have you saved all your print Dramatics or bookmarked Dramatics.org for quick access? Does the idea of seeing your byline on our national website thrill you? If so, let’s talk!

The Educational Theatre Association seeks students or recent alumni interested in helping shape print and digital coverage for and about Thespians. Participants on our Student Editorial Advisory Board will monitor and help promote Dramatics content, encourage student submissions, offer story ideas, and give feedback on current and future editorial strategy through bimonthly conference calls. Board members will also get the opportunity to contribute original content to Dramatics.org.

Advisory board members can build their college résumé and writing portfolio, earn a stipend for articles published on Dramatics.org, and represent Thespian interests.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in conference calls every other month (must attend at least four per year to remain in good standing).
• Monitor stories on Dramatics.org to enhance knowledge of current publications strategy.
• Share opinions and expertise about topics of interest to high school theatre students; prepare for each call by bringing two story ideas to share.
• Provide feedback on current editorial plans and brainstorm new content opportunities with publications staff.
• Serve as the eyes and ears for Thespian stories and encourage submissions from student writers in your region.
• Advocate for Dramatics and Dramatics.org by sharing stories of interest on your social media networks.
• Write one essay for the new Dramatics.org “My Thespian Journey” series with assistance from the publications team; additional writing opportunities exist for those interested.

Applications for the 2019-20 school year will be accepted through October 31.
